Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that rising tensions with the United States and Israel could escalate into a wider conflict, describing the risk of a “total war” if hostilities continue to intensify.
In comments reported by state-affiliated media, Pezeshkian said Iran would defend itself against any direct military action, while accusing Western governments of fueling instability through political and military support for Israel.
The Iranian leader cautioned European countries against becoming further involved, arguing that broader engagement could expand the scope of the conflict beyond the Middle East. He emphasized that Iran does not seek war but would respond decisively if provoked.
The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions following recent clashes involving Israel and Iran-aligned groups, as well as increased diplomatic pressure from Washington. While no immediate military escalation has been confirmed, officials on multiple sides have signaled concern about the risk of miscalculation.
