New Footage and Debate Surround Fatal ICE Agent Shooting in Minneapolis

Newly released video and ongoing investigations are adding clarity and controversy to the fatal shooting of Renee Good, a 37-year-old woman who was shot and killed by a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Minneapolis earlier this week. Footage from multiple angles, including cellphone video from the scene, shows the moments leading up to the shooting during a federal immigration enforcement operation. The recordings depict an interaction between Good and federal officers as she sat in her vehicle; at one point she is heard calmly speaking to an officer before shots are fired.

Federal officials, including the Department of Homeland Security, maintain that the agent acted in self-defense, saying Good’s vehicle was used to threaten law enforcement. Local leaders and witnesses dispute that account, and some footage suggests the vehicle did not clearly strike any officers.

The incident has prompted protests in Minneapolis and other cities, with demonstrators calling for accountability and criticising federal immigration enforcement tactics. Local officials, including the city’s mayor, have challenged the federal narrative and demanded transparency in the investigation.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has taken over the inquiry, and Minnesota authorities have voiced frustration over limited access to evidence. Family members and community advocates have shared tributes to Good, highlighting her roles as a parent and community member amid growing national debate.
